Laser Hair Removal – Body Contouring Implants
Introduction
Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses highly concentrated laser light to remove unwanted hair from the face, underarms, forearms, legs, and bikini line, and nearly any other area of the body except the area surrounding the eye.
Procedure
Before the procedure, the hair to be treated will be cut, the skin will be sterilized and numbing gel can be applied.
Light pulses are directed to the hair follicles in the treatment area. And the pigment (or colorant) in the roots absorbs the light and destroys the hair.
The length of a laser hair removal procedure depends on the size and location of the treatment area.
However, treatment times typically last from a few minutes to an hour.
Recovery
After the procedure, your skin may become red and irritated for a short time. A topical cream may be to protect your skin while it heals.
It is important to use sunscreen for a few weeks following the procedure. You should not use any product that can irritate your skin. You should avoid applying the treated area with waxing and hair pulling.
Results
Since the laser light is directed to the pigment in the hair, this process is more effective in dark-skinned and light-skinned people.
But advances in laser technology have made laser hair removal an option for most people. Because not all hair grows at the same time, a single procedure does not treat all hair follicles in the area.
You may notice hair growth in the area as follicles that do not grow during the growth phase return to your process.
Therefore, several treatments are often required to completely treat a single area. The number of treatments varies between individuals. Most people receive about 6 to 8 treatments 4 to 8 weeks apart.
It is important to understand that laser hair removal is unlikely to prevent hair growth completely, this procedure can reduce hair growth over time.
